Design and development focuses on how a product solves user problems and meets market needs.
Our customers know their markets. We know tools and techniques to develop products that shine.
We work closely with our clients to fill gaps in their development cycle. What we do varies by product and project. Let's start a conversation about your needs!
Would you like to be able to visualize your new product? Would you like to ensure fit and function of the components? Would you like to get feedback from your customers before building prototypes?
Today's CAD tools are very capable. We regularly work in both SolidEdge and Solid Works with well-featured licenses.
Simulation and analysis often guides the design process. It allows us to iterate rapidly and propose designs that have high confidence of success.
We use Ansys Mechanical; in our opinion, the best platform for structural analysis. It also has good static and dynamic thermal modeling capabilities.
In addition to being extremely useful for testing and marketing, we love building prototypes because it is simply so fulfilling to see a design come to life for the first time!
Our in-house prototyping capabilities include assembly and two types of additive plastics manufacturing. We engage outside resources for electronics, machined parts, or sheet metal.
We often start the development process with feasibility testing. This is intended to be light and quick, testing only the key aspects or subsystems of a design to build confidence.
Testing is also necessary to validate that the design functions as intended. This testing can quantify the margin of success and/or repeatability of the solution.
Ultimately, our goal is to arrive at a viable and well-documented product. We often find that our customers work with us to create formal Market Requirements (MRD) and Functional Specifications (FS) documents.
Decisions about the product can be complex. What is ideal for one end-user may not suit another. Requirements may conflict. A good launch opportunity may have a limited-time window. And there may be some unanswered questions. We can help by using techniques that clearly summarize the trade-offs. These also document the decisions so that they are clear later, when viewed retrospectively.
